The Laundry Room

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;">Many NYC residents would like their living spaces to be this big. I wanted to share this room designed by <span style="font-style: italic;">Hamptons Totes</span> for HDS with you because this is exactly how I would decorate my Beach House <span style="font-style: italic;">laundry room</span>, if I had one. I would assign one bag for each person in the house and for visitors. Isn't it fun how they added those beach balls above the upper cabinets?</div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOnw1RT4o1ZveFl6r6yk0bMQz17a5Pz_G8fzMUn71AYIeQd2uwRNmk1y53A2rrLd-EGsb4UOtnwV6gw0cZFiF9tsHjqdbIhZR2-yVpwv97VQVz2BK0CGpfQh38T0aFAbOD6Qpb-ySmWLY/s1600-h/IMG_0046.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5377248103332513634" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOnw1RT4o1ZveFl6r6yk0bMQz17a5Pz_G8fzMUn71AYIeQd2uwRNmk1y53A2rrLd-EGsb4UOtnwV6gw0cZFiF9tsHjqdbIhZR2-yVpwv97VQVz2BK0CGpfQh38T0aFAbOD6Qpb-ySmWLY/s400/IMG_0046.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; height: 516px; width: 388px;" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXRNnOx3gBhK5CnP0CP5AHuQtpjy7nKDoQxGqHa5pEgBJ8iVtxS5fNwti0ZGQoUA3eUvQHMchhAS2S1BYk0RUP2Vv4eqHImc8TbYAotv8_4WScFfUadf3EmZdPuhUWWwTXRfyuVBPAFAo/s1600-h/IMG_0049.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5377248092802051026" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXRNnOx3gBhK5CnP0CP5AHuQtpjy7nKDoQxGqHa5pEgBJ8iVtxS5fNwti0ZGQoUA3eUvQHMchhAS2S1BYk0RUP2Vv4eqHImc8TbYAotv8_4WScFfUadf3EmZdPuhUWWwTXRfyuVBPAFAo/s400/IMG_0049.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; height: 516px; width: 388px;" /></a></div><span style="font-size: 85%;">images from Belle Vivir</span></div>

"Whenever I am traveling in the world my thoughts always wander back to the British Colonies" says <a href="http://www.jennifergarrigues.com/">Jennifer Garrigues</a>. This was one of my favorite rooms, unfortunately these images do no credits to its perfectly accomplished representation of what a "sophisticated room in a British colonized exotic island" would look like. Dark wood floors, carved mahogany furniture, the use of color around the room and big leafy indoor plants are basic elements in British Colony design. When I walked into this room I felt as if I was transported to a relaxing remote island.<br /><br /><span style="font-size: 85%;">top picture from <a href="http://www.palmbeachdailynews.com/realestate/content/realestate/2009/08/06/RES_080609_Varney.html">Palm Beach Daily News</a> second from Belle Vivir.</span></div>

Hampton Designer Showhouse

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">I finally had a chance to visit <a href="http://www.hamptondesignershowhouse.com/">The Hampton Designer Showhouse</a>, presented by <a href="http://www.traditionalhome.com/">Traditional Home</a> this weekend and I had a great time walking through this beautiful and huge house. Many of you might have already visited it or seen pictures posted by our fellow bloggers, but for those of you who haven't had the time to see this magnificent house in person and for those who are always looking for new inspiration, I will post some of my favorite rooms this week. One of my top favorites was the Master Sitting Room designed by <a href="http://www.hdanyc.com/">Hamilton Design Associates</a>. One of the smallest rooms in this showhouse, it is one of the prettiest one too. I loved the use of different patterns with contrasting colors. The size of the furniture was more than suitable for this cozy room where the modern photograph added a modern touch. This room looked like an inside heavenly garden with <a href="http://www.suzyhoodless.com/content.php?page=1">Suzu hoodless</a> hand printed wallpaper. To see more of this fantastic room, please visit Hamilton Design Associates.<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6llSpDvnJmFIUJy2zmvK9O4XeZ_OYcTT-DKrpBHNz6pxrepKaC6ysZLAFxug2bYGC5e6XbsuuAgUw3nqNWPUDJ-K1NmZIKw6bYVkJ_m9p00kR2XjIL1wBaaup69k80_kokVsmbSQPULA/s1600-h/hamilton+design+associates.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5376319770952635090" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6llSpDvnJmFIUJy2zmvK9O4XeZ_OYcTT-DKrpBHNz6pxrepKaC6ysZLAFxug2bYGC5e6XbsuuAgUw3nqNWPUDJ-K1NmZIKw6bYVkJ_m9p00kR2XjIL1wBaaup69k80_kokVsmbSQPULA/s400/hamilton+design+associates.jpg" style="height: 533px; width: 426px;" /></a></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDw-qlHrgja6P94tEhhRe0mAjw0zL_i1oc1gtIXID0xmFhGI14Xbh38qMSkN3H3xZ_euejjDwFOMsHjCzAiJ-SgUUO7GZ6hpB9aVn2HfCE4SlnWxReVGCbniamXcffTvdv-dHMD6t9RYiv/s1600-h/IMG_0050.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5376317126532693394" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDw-qlHrgja6P94tEhhRe0mAjw0zL_i1oc1gtIXID0xmFhGI14Xbh38qMSkN3H3xZ_euejjDwFOMsHjCzAiJ-SgUUO7GZ6hpB9aVn2HfCE4SlnWxReVGCbniamXcffTvdv-dHMD6t9RYiv/s400/IMG_0050.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; height: 567px; width: 427px;" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: 85%;">apologies for the last picture, my camera was acting up.
