Back in September, Restoration Hardware officially changed its name to RH, a fact that seems to have been missed by most people, including myself.  What was not missed however, was the opening of their newest store in Boston (at the former Louis Boston location in the New England Museum of History building).  The latest flagship emphasizes the company's shift away from cash and carry items such as hardware (I'm assured they will still carry stock online) and towards serious luxury retail furnishings and accessories.  I was lucky enough to be in attendance for the opening and I can tell you first hand that the experience is impressive.  Below are some shots of the new space:

Although the party was reported as being shut down by the police and fire department, I don't think they'll be able to keep people out of this space for long.  The store is laid out beautifully as a series of vignettes, each of which feels like a movie set.  It will be interesting to see if the Boston space becomes the new benchmark for retail in the home furnishings market.
